Dog grooming service In Plymouth

I provide a mobile dog grooming service, where I come to you, helping keep your dogs at ease in their home environment. I can provide basic grooming needs at affordable and fair prices, such as nail clipping, paw/legs and hygiene tidy-ups, to full grooms. Due to being mobile, if you would like bathing, then I would need to be able to use your own bath or shower facilities, but I would provide the shampoo/conditioner and drying equipment. Alternatively, if you need your dog clipped then you can bath yourself the day before, ready for me to groom as required.

A little about me first...

I love all animals and it has been my dream for many years to work with animals, especially dogs.
I currently live at home in Plympton, Devon with my Fiancé Darren, our 2 cats Milo and Leo, and crazy Springer Spaniel Max.

I was lucky enough to grow up with family dogs from around the age of 9, the first being a black Cocker Spaniel called Rex. He was a rescue dog who was on the verge of euthanasia had my step-dad not saved him and paid for the very expensive veterinary care he needed. He was a character for sure, but he was diagnosed with cancer of the mouth and unfortunately this got the better of him.

I also had the joy of growing up with Zebedee (Zeb), an English  Springer Spaniel who was full of beans and loved life. He was a working dog and loved going out shooting. He was my best friend growing up as a teen, and even going into adulthood, I cherished him greatly. It was one of the hardest days of my life saying goodbye to him, who unfortunately was also cursed by Cancer of the mouth. He was an impressive 19 years old when we laid him to rest.

And then there was Ben, also an English Springer Spaniel, who was so nervous when he was brought home as a pup, he didn't move from the front room rug for about 2 days - not even to wee! But once he found his feet, there was no stopping him and he loved to run, swim and sit out in the sun (and rain!) in the back garden. He has also now joined his best pal Zeb over the rainbow bridge.

I now have Max, who is a ball of furry Springer Spaniel energy, and definitely keeps me on my toes! He loves long walks, swimming and chewing sticks! He has the benefit of having a dog groomer mum, so is always (hopefully!) looking tip top!

I did study with the British College of Canine Studies, focusing on my Certificate in Dog Walking which I finished and received a distinction for. I have also completed a course in dog first aid, and attend this training every 3 years to update and refresh my certification.

I am qualified at Level 2 and Level 3 City and Guilds Dog Grooming, and trained for both qualifications locally in Callington, Cornwall.

Important Information

Any dog found with serious matting will often have to be clipped out as it would be too painful or distressing for the dog to attempt to brush out, therefore if this is the case, an additional fee of £10 will be charged.

I will do my very best to provide the service you require for your dog, using calm and gentle handling. However, if a dog becomes aggressive, or too distressed for me to continue with the process, I will have to stop and advise you on next steps. In these circumstances, there will be a minimum call out fee for my time, depending on service requested;

Nail clipping, face tidying, paw tidy - £5
Bath and dry, general tidy up - £10
Full grooms/handstrip - £20

The same would apply if I find your dog has fleas or some other possible health condition in which it would not be safe to continue my services.

Please note that bathing services would require me to use your bath/shower facilities, but I would provide towels, shampoo/conditioner and drying equipment.

For all new customers, I will complete a new client card and also ask you to read and sign my terms and conditions. So please ensure you allow some time for this to be completed prior to any services being carried out.
