· To provide an efficient mobile dog grooming service to customers homes
· To provide all services with care and gentle handling, to make the grooming experience as stress-free as possible for the dog.
· To provide a service that is of good quality and fairly priced
The welfare of your dog is of the most importance throughout any service provided. The benefit that mobile grooming can provide is that your dog can stay within its familiar surroundings with people that it knows well, which in turn can help keep your dog at ease; particularly helpful with nervous or older dogs. Health checks are completed for all grooms, to check for any irregular lumps, or signs of infections. Whilst I cannot diagnose, I can advise whether I believe you may need to seek veterinary advice should I come across anything of concern.
All services that can be provided are detailed on the Up To Your Paws In It website, along with the prices. There may be at times offers or discounts and these would be detailed on my website and social media. Appointments for services can be made by contacting me on my Facebook messenger or by using the contact form on the website. For customers wanting full grooms, the price will vary depending on the size of the dog, the coat type and what is being requested. A quote may be given at the time of making the appointment, but this could alter on physical inspection of the dog’s coat.
I offer a loyalty card scheme and all new customers will receive their first card on the first appointment. There may be at times other offers or discounts on services, and these would be detailed on my website and social media, and are provided at my discretion.
Should you wish to cancel an appointment, you must give 48 hours’ notice to avoid any charge. Any cancellations after this time will occur a charge of 50% of the price of the service requested. Appointments missed where I have arrived and nobody is home, or the groom cannot be undertaken on arrival due to customers circumstances, will incur a fee of 50% of the price of the service requested, due to the loss of time and travelling costs incurred as this could have been booked to another dog. All fees must be paid within 48 hours and no appointment will be rescheduled until fees are paid. Non-payment will mean no further appointments will be booked.
There may be exceptional circumstances or occasions where I need to cancel your appointment. If this occurs, then your appointment will be rearranged for as soon as possible at no extra cost to you.
All payments for services will be required on the day, after the service has been completed, either in cash or by BACS payment. Account details will be provided on the day.
Matting Policy
Any dog found with serious matting will often have to be clipped out, often tight to the skin, as it would be too painful and distressing for the dog to attempt to brush out. Therefore, if this occurs, and additional fee of £10 will be charged to the customer. For those customers who have dogs with curly or long coats, I strongly recommend that they brush their dog regularly to avoid matting, should you need any advice on this then I would be happy to help with this.
If I am presented with a neglected coat and believe, in my professional opinion, it is kinder to remove the coat than it is to de-mat this will be done in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006. All new customers will be asked to read and sign the de-matting disclaimer.
I will do my very best to provide the service you require for your dog, using calm and gentle handling. However, is a dog becomes aggressive or too distressed for me to continue with the process, I will have to stop and advise the customer on next steps. In these circumstances, there will be a minimum call out fee to cover my time, and this will depend on the service requested;
Nail clipping, face tidying, paw tidying - £5
Bath and dry, general tidy up - £10
Full grooms/hand strip - £20
The same would also apply if I find fleas, parasites, or some other possible health issue in which it would not be safe for myself and/or the dog to continue my services.
Sometimes it may be helpful to have the customer help hold and comfort the dog, and sometimes it may be better for the customer to be out of sight. It can be determined what is best for the dog at the time, and I would request your cooperation with this.
I will not provide services for any dogs noted under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
All services will be carried out in your home. It can be agreed where is best to do this on my arrival to your home. Depending on the service required, I may need to set up a grooming table and I will also need access to electric plug sockets. I will do my best to clean up before I leave and take all waste with me, however grooming of a dog can often create a lot of mess and therefore you may need to complete any cleaning (such as hoovering any small fine hairs) on my departure.
Whilst in your home, I will treat your home and all belongings with full respect.
For all bathing needs, I will require use of your bath or shower facilities to do this. But all other equipment will be provided by myself.
Your dog may be photographed before, during and after their groom. These images, along with the dog’s name, may be used on our Facebook page, website or for other advertising. Please state before the groom commences if you do NOT wish for your pet to be photographed.
If I notice any cuts, sores or anything that is not deemed as normal when conducting the health checks on your dog, I will take photos of this; this is to allow me to research further if it is something I haven’t seen before (so will develop my ongoing learning), and also to show that these were present prior to me completing any grooming service.
Should any injury happen throughout the grooming process, I will also take photos of these.
Should you have a Bitch in season or pregnant during the time of a pre-booked appointment, please contact me so we can discuss whether it is safe for the booking to continue or whether this needs to be rescheduled.
In order for me to provide the requested services, I am required to obtain and store a limited amount of your personal information. Such information will be stored in accordance with all relevant legislation, will never be shared with any 3rd parties or organisations and will only be used for the purposes of providing the requested or related services. You have the right to request and review any of your personal information.
I am covered by public liability insurance, to ensure that both myself and the customer are protected should anything happen whilst I am providing a service. For more details on this, please ask.
I acknowledge and appreciate that everyone has their own opinions and concerns relating to Covid-19. I also appreciate that some customers may have health conditions or other reasons that make them more vulnerable. With this in mind, if you would prefer that I wear a facemask whilst I carry out any service in your home, then please request this. Likewise, I will not be offended in any way should you wish to wear a face covering whilst I am present in your home. I will also be taking lateral flow tests on the day of all customer appointments. Please be assured that all equipment is cleaned after each use.
Should you have any questions or concerns about any of the above, or about anything else, please do contact me.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated
